With the rapid development of China-Mexico economic and trade cooperation and the continuous expansion of cooperation areas, as well as the increasing strengthening of economic and trade cooperation, a large number of disputes arising from trade, investment and shipping will also occur between the two countries. In order to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Central and South America concerning arbitration law, strengthen the publicity expansion of CMAC in South America, to further improve the level of the internationalization of the arbitration service, CMAC delegation paid a visit to Mexico arbitration center (hereinafter referred to as the "CAM")  in November 2018 in Mexico, at the invitation of Mexican investment of foreign trade and science and technology commission. The two sides reached consensus on mutual recommendation of arbitrators, joint promotion of arbitration and mutual provision of court hearing facilities and services. After friendly consultations, CMAC and CAM signed an agreement of friendly cooperation between the two institutions on February 20, 2019, in order to conduct in-depth exchanges and practical cooperation.

CAM is currently one of the most active arbitration institutions in Mexico. The signing of a cooperation agreement with CAM will help strengthen and deepen the institutional cooperation between the two institutions and increase the influence of Chinese maritime arbitration in the arbitration and maritime circles in Mexico.
