On October 24, at the 5th "Free Trade Port (Zone) International Maritime Law Forum", Dr. Li Hu, Vice Chairman of CMAC, Mr. Lin Wei, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Zhejiang Provincial Committee, Mr. Gao Haomeng, Deputy Secretary of Zhoushan Party Working Committee of Zhoushan Archipelago New Area, and Mr. Wu Huilin, Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Lawyers' Association jointly issued "China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone Ad Hoc Arbitration Guidelines". On December 13, at the 2nd “Northeast Asia International Commercial Dispute Resolution Summit”, Dr. Chen Bo, CMAC Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Xu Mingqiang, Secretary of CCPIT Dalian Sub-council, Mr. Wang Jufei, Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of the Dalian Area of Liaoning Pilot Free Trade Zone, and Mr. Wang Enqun, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Dalian Lawyers' Association jointly issued the “China (Liaoning) Pilot Free Trade Zone Ad Hoc Arbitration Guidelines”.

On 18 March 2022, China Maritime Law Association (CMLA) and China Maritime Arbitration Commission (CMAC) jointly released the CMLA Ad Hoc Arbitration Rules and CMAC Ad Hoc Arbitration Service Rules, take the lead in providing Ad Hoc arbitration services in mainland China. On June 30, 2023, the first Ad hoc arbitration case in which CMAC provided necessary management services as the appointing authority was successfully concluded, and the arbitral award which has been encrypted to disguise the names of the parties and any other identifying details was published with the consent of all the parties.

The above Ad Hoc Arbitration Guidelines clarifies the basis and procedures for conducting ad hoc arbitration in Zhejiang FTZ and Liaoning FTZ, and plays an important leading role in further promoting the development of Ad Hoc arbitration in Zhejiang FTZ and Liaoning FTZ.
