On August 31, 2023, CMAC, Xiamen Management Committee of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Xiamen Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Xiamen Lawyers Association jointly held a press conference in Xiamen,and issued The Ad Hoc Arbitration Guidelines for the China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone(The Guidelines) . Dr. LI Hu, Vice Chairman of CMAC, Lu Hailin, Vice Director of Xiamen Management Committee of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Ke Biiru, Chairwoman of Xiamen Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Wang Guiying, President of Xiamen Lawyers Association, issued the Guidelines on behalf of their respective organizations.
As the first practical guide on how to carry out Ad Hoc Arbitration in mainland China, the Guide clarifies the preconditions for carrying out Ad Hoc arbitration in pilot free trade zones, highlights the difference between Ad Hoc arbitration and institutional arbitration, and emphasizes the scope of services provided by arbitration institutions when requested, which plays an important leading role in further promoting the implementation and development of Ad Hoc arbitration in China.
