The United Nations Commission On International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) notified in writing that the China Maritime Arbitration Commission (CMAC) has officially become an observer of UNCITRAL as a non-governmental organization, and that CMAC has joined UNCITRAL Working Groups II (Dispute Settlement) and VI (Negotiable Multimodal Transport Documents).
UNCITRAL is one of the core legal institutions of the United Nations, headquartered in Vienna, Austria. Since its establishment in 1966, UNCITRAL has been committed to promoting the reform of international commercial law and the modernization of international commercial rules, and it is an authoritative international organisation in the formulation of international commercial law and leading the development of international commercial rules. UNCITRAL currently has six working groups, on Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Dispute Settlement, Investor-State Dispute Settlement Reform, Electronic Commerce, Insolvency Law and Negotiable Multimodal Transport Documents.
