The Korean Arbitrators Association was established in  1999 and approved to be established as a non-profit division corporation with approximately 2,000 members under the Korean Ministry of Justice.

KAA aims to provide education and training resources for arbitrators and mediators, and establishes the cooperation mechanisms related to arbitration and mediation to promote arbitration and mediation in Korea and the Asia-Pacific region.

An agreement of cooperation between the two institutions was concluded at the China-ROK Business Exchange Meeting of the 8th China-ROK-Japan Business Summit in order to conduct in-depth exchanges and practical cooperation.
