Ningbo Maritime Court's Maritime Shared Court (CMAC Service Station) selected as one of the first model Shared Courts in Zhejiang Province

Recently, the High People's Court of Zhejiang Province announced the first list of the model Shared Courts. Among the first 15 model, Ningbo Maritime Court's Maritime Shared Court (CMAC Service Station) was the only one selected among the all the Maritime Shared Courts established by Ningbo Maritime Court.

In September 2021, Ningbo Maritime Court set up a Maritime Shared Court (CMAC Service Station) in the Ningbo office of CMAC Zhejiang Pilot Free Trade Zone Arbitration Centre. As of January 2022, a total of 9 cases were mediated in the CMAC Service Station, involving a total value of 187 million RMB. Among them, there are 4 cases involving foreign parties from different countries and regions such as Denmark, Panama and Singapore. Nature of cases include bill of lading, voyage chartering, seafarer insurance, freight forwarding and other typical maritime disputes.

CMAC Service Station combines the function of a shared court with the unique features of maritime arbitration. On the recommendation of the CMAC Zhejiang Pilot Free Trade Zone Arbitration Centre, eight CMAC arbitrators from law firms, universities and other professional fields with rich experience, excellent competence and industry recognition joined the team of Specially Invited Mediators at Ningbo Maritime Court. Relying on the expert mediation, some complex maritime cases can be efficiently settled, which helps to promote the high-quality maritime judicial services in a broader scope.
