Singapore is an important financial, service and shipping center in Asia with  sound rule of law, and highest-level of judicial system in the world in terms of public trust, quality and efficiency. In recent years, Singapore has made efforts to increase its appeal in the international arbitration market and build itself into a new international arbitration center. In May 2009, The Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA) was reorganized and separated from the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) to meet the development needs of maritime arbitration.

The Maritime Court of Singapore (SCMA) is a professional arbitrator to settle maritime and international trade disputes. Its main objective is to provide a comprehensive set of non-administrative and flexible arbitration rules. The Maritime Arbitration Court of Singapore provides the maritime and international trade community with a neutral, economical and flexible framework for the equitable and expeditious settlement of disputes.

After friendly consultations, CMAC and SCMA signed a friendly cooperation agreement in 2019. Since the signing of the agreement, the two sides have carried out cooperation in various forms such as seminars.
