From September 10 to 13, 2023, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation invited Dr. Chen Bo, CMAC Deputy Secretary General, and the delegation of CMAC to Vladivostok, Russia, to attend the plenary meeting and arbitration sub-forum of 8th Eastern Economic Forum.

The Eastern Economic Forum is a high-level international exchange platform created by the Russian government and has been held annually since 2015 in the Russian port city of Vladivostok. The forum, which consists of all-hands meetings and a number of thematic sub-forums, aims to promote the Far East to the global business community in order to attract foreign investment and promote the development of the Far East. In addition, the Russian Government approved the establishment of a sub-forum on arbitration at this Forum.

On September 11, 2023, the 8th Arbitration Sub-Forum of the Eastern Economic Forum was held at the Far Eastern Federal University. With the theme of "International Commercial Arbitration under the current situation", the forum invited a number of experts from UNCITRAL, Chinese and Russian arbitration institutions to participate in the discussion, and Dr.Chen Bo made a keynote speech on behalf of CMAC.

Dr. Chen Bo signed a memorandum of understanding with the Maritime Arbitration Commission of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry on behalf of CMAC. The two sides will work together to promote international arbitration, mediation and other dispute resolution methods, and carry out practical cooperation in building exchange platforms, conducting special studies and sharing arbitration information.

The delegation of CMAC met with Ms. Olga Miroshnichenko, Deputy Dean of the Law School of the Far Eastern Federal University of Russia, and Ms. Natalia G. Prisekina, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Chile in Vladivostok, Partner and head of the Far East Office of Pepeliaev Group, a law firm of Russia, and Executive Secretary of the Vladivostok Branch of the International Commercial Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
